This agreement covers the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for Weizmann corresponding authors who publish in Sage journals. The agreement currently ends on 31 December 2024.
Articles submitted by eligible corresponding authors qualify for discounted Open Access publishing under this agreement based on the date the article is accepted for publication. IMPORTANT: The offer is only available for 2 WEEKS from acceptance of the paper. For some reason, Sage requires that the discount offer expire after 14 days.
During submission, you must identify Weizmann as your affiliated institution and indicate that you want to publish Gold Open Access. At acceptance, you will receive this message:
Open Access publication for your paper in <journal title> has been requested by MALMAD. SAGE Publishing has an arrangement with MALMAD – the Israeli Inter-University center for Digital Information Services, which represents universities of Israel, including your institution. The arrangement significantly reduces the open access process charge (APC) for authors publishing in the vast majority of SAGE subscription journals.
Once open access is confirmed, an APC payment link provided in order to complete the transaction. Publication requires author verification and articles will be published under a CC-BY-NC(4.0) license unless otherwise requested.

- SAGE Open Medicine = GBP 595
- SAGE Open Medicine Case Reports = GBP 445
- SAGE Open Nursing = GBP 600
