Library privileges for Special Users (קורא חריג)
Can a person who is visiting or informaly working in the Institute (without a status or salary) can enjoy Library privileges such as borrowing books?
Answer
A person without an active status in HR cannot enjoy library services and, therefore, cannot borrow library books.
If the hosting department is interested in giving him/her library privileges, they must first ask HR to register him/her with an active status. Active status also includes an expiration date.
After registration is completed, if the person is not eligible for a Weizmann salary, the hosting department must also fill out a Temporary Permission Form (http://www.weizmann.ac.il/library/sites/library/files/uploads/form-korehharig-2020-08-17.pdf) and send it to the Library.
Once form processing is completed (it usually takes a couple of days), the person will have full library services until their expiration date in HR.
