%J in importing to Endnote

When I'm importing citations to Endnote X9, sometimes the journal name is appended to the last author name with a %J delimiter, leaving the journal field blank. What should I do?

Answer

In order to solve this problem, please replace the current EndNote Import filter with the one from the Endnote website according to the following steps:

1. Click on: https://endnote.com/wp-content/uploads/plugins/filters/EndNote%20Import.enf

2. Double-click on the downloaded file to open it.

3. Click the File menu in EndNote and select Save As.

4. Be sure to save it with same name then Click Save then Close the window.

5. You can now delete the file that was downloaded a copy has been added to EndNote.

6. You can now try to export again.
