Why should I make sure that my full list of publications appears in WIS Works?
Really, there's Google Scholar, ORCID, ResearcherID, and so many other options? Why should I bother?
Answer
What added value can you get from reviewing and monitoring your publications in WIS Works?
- Maintain a complete publications list in 1 place and share from there, for example, to ORCID, to your publications list, and to Weizmann search tools
- It is used by Weizmann management and the Office of Academic Affairs to provide publication lists and find researcher affiliations
- From 2022, it will be phased in as the information source Israel's Council for Higher Education (ות"ת) annual review of research publications in Israel
- It can be part of the process helping you plan for and fulfill Open Access requirements (for example, ERC grants)
- Automatically maintain a sharable CV
- No where else can you get both control and support for maintaining your complete and accurate list (example, this article from Leiden U about problems with author affiliation information in some common databases)
