How does automatic updating of scientist publication list web page happen?
Answer
Scientist web site publication lists can be automatically updated via a system created from 2 sources:
- WIS Works, the Weizmann research repository (content), managed by the Library
- Internet Services Section web pages (interface, page structure, look and feel)
The Library and the Internet Services Section coordinate closely on any issues, but if you see a problem on your publications list, it may be fixed more quickly if you differentiate between content or metadata issues and interface issues.
There is an easy way to check for content issues:
- View your WIS Works page. If you don't see the same problem, then the issue is probably with the web interface, so contact Internet Services.
- If you see a content problem on your WIS Works page, please contact the Library (library@weizmann.ac.il)
Note: Only content seen on your WIS Works page without logging in is displayed on your web site publications page. WIS Works contains more publications -- such as theses, abstracts, ATLAS articles, and more -- which many Weizmann researchers choose to not display on their web site publications page.
Is this information new to you?
If you have never worked with the Library to confirm your content in the WIS Works, then it is reasonable to expect missing publications and other issues with content. Please note that there is no universal source from which the Library can simply copy and paste your publications. We work hard to keep this information updated and accurate and are grateful for your cooperation in this task.
If you have already done a full one-time review with the Library, then it is important to notify Library staff of any new problems as soon as possible.
