What is the WIS Library Access Search Assistant (Lean Library) and How Can I Use It?

Answer

Use the WIS Library Access Search Assistant extension (aka Library Access or Lean Library) directly from your current browser page! (supports major browsers)

Features:

  • Highlight and Go!  Reading an article and find a word or term you'd like to investigate?  Highlight the text, right-click, and go directly to a search on that topic in our Library collections, Google Scholar, or PubMed
  • Reading and find a citation to an article that you'd like to request via the Library?  Highlight the text, right-click, select "Send Request to WIS Library (selected text)", paste and send
  • Click the Library Access Search Assistant extension icon, and see if any assistance is available for the current page

It only takes 2 simple steps

How the Library Access Extension Works

The extension works with the Weizmann Library to identify subscribed e-resources.  Wherever you prefer to search -- Google, Google Scholar, Web of Science, publisher's sites, our Library, or almost anywhere -- this tool makes it easier to access our subscriptions.

If you hit a paywall for an article or eBook, the Library Access will look for an alternative, legal option for access.  We can also send you important messages via the browser extension.
