American Chemical Society (ACS) No-Charge APCs

Answer

For the duration of the Weizmann Library's agreement with ACS, all Weizmann authors can publish their ACS articles open access for free.

This Read and Publish agreement covers the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for corresponding authors affiliated with The Weizmann Institute in fully Open Access journals AND subscription-based journals that offer hybrid Open Access, starting on 1 January 2020.

  • License?  Articles are published with a CC-BY license.  If another license is required, please contact the Library. .
  • Not Corresponding Author?  If you are not corresponding author on an ACS paper, but the corresponding author is from an Israeli university, we can make your paper open access at no additional cost.  Please contact the Library for details.
  • Not FIRST Corresponding Author?  If you are not the FIRST corresponding author, the article is still eligible.  Unfortunately, second and more corresponding authors are not informed of this option and the Library is not notified of the article acceptance, so it make take a few months for us to notice and contact you.  If this describes your article and you have not yet heard from the Library, please contact the Library.
  • Which journals are covered? All ACS journals.

See American Chemical Society Approval Process for details about the Approval Process

If anything you see while submitting your article leads you to believe that there is a charge for this service, that information is either incorrect or misleading!  If you are worried, just contact us at library@weizmann.ac.il.

See List of all the eligible journals.
