Q. What is an embargo period?

An embargo period is a period of time after an article has been published and before early versions of the article can be made available as Open Access.

Publishers that permit pre-print, post-print, or published versions of the article to be deposited in an Institutional or Scientific Repository may require an embargo period for one or more of the versions.

Consult the publisher web site or the Sherpa/Romeo website to find a specific Journal or Publisher's embargo period.
