How can I make small changes to the display of my Endnote bibliography?

I would like to generate a bibliography for my work / article.

I'm already using a certain style, but I would to make a little change in display (e.g. add/remove punctuation, add/remove bold or italic fonts, etc.)

How can I do that?

Answer

Making small changes to the display of your bibliographic list requires editing an existing style. Therefore, we highly recommend you to start by reading How can I edit a style in Endnote?

1. Go to: Edit > Output Styles > Open Style Manager.

2. Double-click on the style you need.

3. The "Bibliography" section on the left menu deals with all aspects of the bibliographic list that should appear at the end of your paper. Choosing subsection "Templates" will allow you to control little display issues.

4. Different displays for different types of publications cited appear on the right side of the screen. Place the cursor on one of the elements under the relevant publication type in order to make changes in its display (you can add or remove punctuation, change the font display using the top icons , replace the order of elements in each citation, etc.)

After making all changes you need, we advice you to save it as a new style and make sure it is the active style on your Endnote.
